Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University added another to its social contribution mission efforts. Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Wildlife Protection, Rehabilitation Application and Research Center, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry 4th Regional Directorate and Fethiye Science and Art Center, organized an event due to the Environmental Workshop.

During the bird watching event held at the Çalış Bird Paradise in Fethiye, Bilsem students were given fieldwork training on the use of equipment such as binoculars, telescopes, and cameras used for bird watching by the Center Director Dr. Lecturer Yasemin Özdemir. Özdemir emphasized that environmental and bird watching awareness plays an important role in the process of discovering nature and gaining environmental sensitivity for 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students, stating that children in this age group learn to pay more attention to their surroundings by observing natural life, thus contributing to the preservation of nature and the maintenance of the health of bird species' habitats.

During the event, which attracted great interest from Fethiye Bilsem students and their parents, species such as Cormorant, Mallard, Silver Gull, Kingfisher, and Little Egret were observed very closely during the bird watching at Çalış Bird Paradise.

At the end of the event, a gift was presented to the center director Yasemin Özdemir, who was the executor of the event, by Fethiye Bilsem Science Consultant Sona Özlen.
